Agriculture constitutes a major part of the Palestinian economy. Our investment into this sector is in the shape of a 6,800 square meter cold storage facility in Gaza servicing the farmers of that region and for the first time, enabling the effective storage of their produce for extended periods of time, which in turn maximizes their revenues.
APSC has the ability to store a total 5,000 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables in its 14 storage rooms which have full capacity for freezing, cooling, atmospheric control and dehumidification, in addition to specially equipped rooms for citrus fruits and grapes storage.
This facility became fully operative in mid-1999, and we are hoping to expand downstream into packaging and marketing services in the not-so-distant future.
