APIC held its third annual sports day for employees of all seven subsidiaries at the First Ramallah Group premises under the slogan: "We Play Together, We Challenge Together, We Excel Together."
In her opening remarks, APIC Systems Audit and Development Manager Lina Hathweh welcomed the participating employees and their families, saying, "Sports revitalize employees and motivate them for continuous creativity and advancement, and assert commitment and team spirit." She added that employee participation affirms the attention given by APIC to its staff in the forms of recreational activities, training courses and workshops that enhance their expertise and skills.
APIC’s Chief Operating Officer Ali Aggad said, "Since its establishment, APIC has adopted the vision of growth, prosperity and success that can only move forward with loyal and professional staff. This is what APIC saw in its subsidiary companies, hence it encouraging activities that motivate employees to be creative and successful; sports day is an activity that APIC hosts as a token of amity and loyalty to its staff."
He added that the sports day is part of its internal social responsibility activities aimed at enhancing internal communication among the group's members and stresses the need for competition and teamwork spirit.
APIC companies competed in friendly games of football, basketball and table tennis. Unipal grabbed first place in football, while Plaza came in second and Hyundai third. In basketball, Plaza beat Sky, last year's champion, while NAPCO came in second. Plaza also won first prize in table tennis while Unipal ranked second and Hyundai third.
Waseem Asaili of Unipal was named the tournament striker, while Khaldoun Mohammad of the Medical Supplies and Services (MSS) took home the title of best goalkeeper while NAPCO won best all-round team. Towards the end of the sports day, APIC distributed trophies and prizes to the winners.
APIC is comprised of seven subsidiary companies, with over 950 employees working at the Arab Palestinian Shopping Centers Company (Plaza), the Palestine Automobile Company Ltd.-Hyundai, the National Aluminum and Profile Company (NAPCO), Unipal General Trading Company, Medical Supplies and Services (MSS), Siniora Food Industries Company and Sky Advertising.
