APIC Conducts Training Course On "Occupational Safety And Security"

APIC conducted a training course at the Grand Park Hotel, Ramallah, for the company‘s safety and security officers, quality officers, warehouse managers and IT system managers. The course addressed the principles of safety and security in the workplace and their implementation.

 

In his opening remarks, Chief Operating Officer Ali Aggad spoke about the importance of safety and security in the workplace, asserting that APIC is determined to promote a safe and healthy system that preserves the health and well-being of its staff, he company’s most valuable asset.

 

The training course explained the "safety triangle," and the main elements of the industrial health and safety program, stressing the need to apply all safety standards and advocate and apply safe conditions for workers, the surroundings and the environment.

   

APIC Project Manager, Security and Safety Officer Engineer Natheer Hassan Ansari, who completed a one-month training course in the United Kingdom, conducted the training and explained the elements of the safety and health program, stressing that risk-analysis and safe work procedures are the best means to identify the optimum method of work for each occupation, and that all individuals are expected to comply with these instructions. Training materials included the company‘s policy of industrial safety and health and the five major elements of the industrial safety and health program: leadership and planning, training, and adopting safety standards.

 

APIC Director of Internal Audit Lina Hathweh explained that the internal audit system has been updated to include health, safety and environment measures, with the company conducting intensive courses throughout 2010 on all aspects that contribute to building the safety capacity up to international levels.
